Effective communication and proper motivation builds the bond between you and your dog. Our canine training will give you control whether at home, on a walk, or at the park.
Neuman K-9 Academy is a Minnesota dog training company that provides obedience programs for all breeds. The various levels of training give you options, depending on the level of control you wish to obtain upon the completion of our program.
Can you train my dog?
Yes! Your dog will learn to walk on leash without pulling, to stop jumping up on people, and to give you his/her undivided attention. The programs we offer range from off-leash heeling to long distance come/recall (see below).

Graduates of this four-week dog training program will master the following commands:
- Sit and Stay. Your dog will sit immediately after a verbal command or hand signal, and hold position until you give the release word.
- Recall/Come. Your dog will come to you immediately on command, even with environmental distractions.
- Down and Stay. Your dog will lay down on command, and stay in a down position until you give the release word.
- Heeling/Walking on a Leash. Your dog will walk on a leash without pulling, crossing in front of you, or lagging behind. Your dog will also sit automatically when you stop walking.

proper etiquette: to meet and greet human companions without jumping up, and to wait at the door until given a command to enter.
Upon course completion, you will receive a DVD of your dog executing these commands.

Graduates of this

- Down at a Distance. Your dog will (from a distance and off-leash) lie down on command.
- Heeling/Walking Off a Leash. You dog will walk next to you without forging forward, lagging behind, crossing in front of you, or leaving position. Your dog will also sit automatically when you stop walking.
- Place. Your dog will go to a specified place (i.e. a dog bed) and stay there until released. This is a valuable command for dogs that beg, bark, jump up, or need a 'time out' to calm down.
Graduates of this dog training program will also learn

Graduates of Neuman K-9 Academy Level I/II: Basic Obedience are eligible to enroll in this
four-week course, which includes everything available in the Advanced Obedience Off-Leash Training program.

Obedience training is in-board training therefore we have limited availability. Training dates for 2010 are as follows:

To register: We require that half the tuition be paid as a deposit to hold your place in the course. The remaining balance is due at the time of pick up and/or graduation.
We utilize techniques proven safe and efficient and recognized by canine training experts. If any of the programs listed here do not meet your needs, contact us for a customized training package. Our training facility is located in St. Peter, MN - just north of Mankato. We service all of Minnesota, including Minneapolis and St. Paul.
