Sport K9 Training

Sport dog training requires a dog or K9 to be confident, obedient, and well trained. The dog needs to be able to accompany the owner in public places and to have proper etiquette, yet on command – display courage, and protect the owner of any or all threats presented.

Training a dog to alert and protect on command allows the owner to communicate with the dog and establish an ON and OFF switch, thus making the dog safe and reliable. A "naturally protective" dog is a ticking time bomb, the dog left untrained distinguishes when it is right or wrong to display aggression leading to accidental bites, legal liability, and an unprotected owner.

We begin the process of protection training by evaluating the temperament of the dog. The dog needs to be confident, stable in the home as well as in public, yet social enough to meet a neutral person without showing signs of fear or aggression.

A reliable protection dog could save your life, our program comes in three levels of protection, or we can provide you with a fully trained family companion and protector.

What to expect from K9 Training:

Obedience Training (basic or advanced) -
Practical and necessary commands for daily living. Commands to walk at your side without pulling, sit, stay, down, come when called, wait at doors, go into a kennel on command, and more! Dog training commands for this program can be in German, Czech, French, or Dutch upon request.

Sport Training Custom-tailored sport training that teaches a dog to the fundamentals of prey or defense work, gripping, targeting, and outing on command.

Socialization A protection dog or K9 needs to be able to co-exist within the pack and have proper play style. Boot campers get to run and play in groups of dogs, learning how to act as a pack, and take direction from human pack leaders - the trainers at Neuman K-9 Academy.

Physical Conditioning. A protection dog or K9 needs to be fit both mentally and physically. We include daily cardio and strength training, unlike any other so-called dog training camp.

Confidence Building. Protection training includes learning to work through various conditions that build confidence. A protection dog needs to be able to travel with and accompany the owner or family, we teach dogs how to go into public and be confident and well behaved.

Proper Etiquette. Meet and greet human companions under control, not exhibitingaggression or anti-social behavior.

Upon completion of boot camp, your canine will receive a certificate of completion in recognition from the Academy, and you will receive a DVD with obedience commands and instructions specific to your dog.
