Our pet dog obedience training program establishes proper obedience; teaching your dog how to walk on leash without pulling, come when called, sit or down on command, to stop jumping on people, and respond to commands consistently. This program is in-board, also known as boarding training. Dogs enrolled for this program stay at the Academy until course completion ranging anywhere from 4-8 weeks. The dogs in our program have plenty of room to run and grow. We create an environment that values proper etiquette and reinforces inherent strengths. Neuman K-9 Academy is a Minnesota dog training company that provides professional obedience programs for all breeds. The various levels of training range from basic to advanced, depending on the level of control you want for your dog.

Obedience Training (Basic, Intermediate or Advanced) - Practical and necessary commands for daily living. Commands to walk at your side without pulling, sit, stay, down, come when called, wait at doors, go into a kennel on command, and more! Pack Socialization - Dogs enrolled for obedience training also receive pack socialization, they have the opportunity to runand play with the other dogs at the Academy.
Group play time or pack socialization is supervised and structured making this a positive experience.
Proper Etiquette - Meet and greet human companions without jumping up, and to wait at the door in the kennel until given a command to enter or exit.
Upon completion of obedience training, your dog will receive a certificate of completion in recognition from the Academy, and you will receive a DVD with obedience commands and instructions specific to your dog.

Obedience Level I. (Basic on-leash) - 4 Weeks ($1100)
Level I. obedience training teaches your dog to walk on a leash without pulling, sit/stay, down/stay, come when called (on-leash), and general etiquette. All Commands in this program are on a leash. This program is ideal for dogs under 12 months of age that need a basic foundation in obedience training.
Obedience Level II. (Intermediate off-leash recall) - 4 Weeks ($1300)
Level II. obedience training includes all commands trained in level I. with the addition of an Off-leash Recall (come when called off leash).
This program is ideal for dogs under 12 months of age that need a good foundation of obedience with a reliable off-leash recall.
Obedience Level III. (Advanced off-leash) - 8 Weeks ($2400)
The Level III. obedience program covers all phases of obedience training up to the most advanced level, off-leash control. Once your dog has mastered all commands on leash, we teach them off-leash heeling next to the handler, full field (long distance) recalls, a "place" command (go to your bed and lay down), and "lay down" from a distance.
This program is ideal for dogs Over 6 months of age, and for dogs that may be used for hunting, sports, or for owners that simply want full off-leash control.
Continued Education ($300/week)
Graduates of our training program are eligible to return at a later date for refresher training or continuing education. If you are traveling, have vacation plans, or need a place for your dog to stay while you are out of town, this is a great way to improve what your dog has already learned. We provide a familiar environment, refresher training, and lots of exercise!
No Pre-Requisites required - you can enroll your dog for Obedience Levels II. or III. with no previous training. When you enroll for a higher level we will include all training from the previous at no extra charge.

Obedience training for your dog is the foundation for having a well behaved canine companion. We do the work for you, in-board training is the most effective method of dog training on the planet. Our obedience training facility is conveniently located in Hugo, Minnesota. We are 28 miles from downtown Minneapolis or 22 miles from St. Paul (Twin Cities). We receive dogs from all over the country and can arrange shipping and receiving from the Minneapolis International Airport (MSP). The in-board training or board and train options we provide allow you to enroll your canine companion even if you are not close to our Academy.
