Neuman K-9 Academy's Dog Training Boot Camp is a specialized training program giving you the ultimate level of control. This innovative program is designed for owners seeking an easy to live with companion that can go anywhere, respond to commands, and show proper etiquette towards people and other dogs.
Our Minnesota doggy boot camp begins with obedience training. Your dog will learn to sit, down, walk at your side on leash without pulling,
come on command, and meet people without jumping.
These obedience commands act as a foundation for the other components of our program: physical conditioning, confidence building, and off-site training.
The doggie boot campers in our program have plenty of room to run and grow. We create an environment that values proper etiquette and
reinforces inherent strengths. Boot Camp dogs are engaged in obedience exercises learning impulse control, proper etiquette, physical conditioning,
and pack socialization.
We take our canine campers on weekly field trips to public and private training sites where they participate in drills that simulate real world conditions.
Dog Training Boot Camp is our most popular obedience training program. It is unique and unmatched by anything we have seen nationwide.
Confidence Building - Obstacle courses, environmental stability, and dealing with adversity is why we call this boot camp. Dogs learn to work through various conditions that build confidence such as jumping in/out of vehicles, and going up/down stairs.
Obedience Training (foundation, intermediate, or advanced) - Practical and necessary commands for daily living. Commands to walk at your side without pulling, sit automatically when you stop sit stay, down stay, come when called, wait at doors or in a kennel until released, go into a kennel on command, and more! Dog training commands for this program can be in German, Czech, French, or Dutch upon request.
Proper Etiquette - Boot camp dogs learn to meet and greet humans under control and without jumping (all four paws on the floor). During camp, dogs travel to public places to practice etiquette in a real world environment. These opportunities also give us the ability to teach them proper etiquette like no jumping up, sitting and waiting at cross-walks, or getting in and out of a vehicle on command.
Field Trips - Opportunities to practice obedience drills in a variety of circumstances. Dogs travel away from Neuman K-9 Academy to train in public and private training areas. Boot camp dogs learn how to behave properly, meeting and greeting people or other dogs in public. Distraction proofing and teaching a dog how to behave outside of it's home environment is necessary if you want the freedom and luxury to bring your dog with you anywhere at anytime.
Treadmill Training - Boot camp dogs learn to run on a human treadmill; these workouts improve stamina, tone muscles (incline, intervals, power walking), and will help your dog absorb more in training. We include daily cardio and strength training, unlike any other so-called dog boot camp.
Pack Socialization - A dog needs to be able to co-exist within the pack and have proper play style. Boot Camp dogs in training get to run and play in groups of dogs, learning how to act as a pack, and take direction from human pack leaders - the trainers at Neuman K-9 Academy. Level II. and III. boot camp dogs also learn to come when called even while engaged with other dogs.
Canine Behavior Modification - Custom-tailored training exercises to modify unwanted behaviors (separation anxiety, counter surfing, nuisance barking, etc).
Note: we do NOT accept dogs with behavioral issues of aggression toward humans.
Owner / Handler Training - Each one of our boot camp programs includes handler training and instruction at graduation. We meet one-on-one with each client or family to teach them proper use of commands, hand signals, and follow through to ensure lifelong success with their dog returning home. Handler instruction includes a demonstrational video of your dog performing the commands, written instructions, hands on training, and lifelong support of each and every dog that graduates from our course.
Upon completion of dog training boot camp, your canine will receive a certificate of completion in recognition from the Academy.
